It would be lovely to be there when the snow is up to your armpits, but for pure delight, I'd say there's nothing like a Maine summer, when the corn is in, the air is sweet, and the sky is so clear you can see all the way to heaven.
My husband thinks the saying 'dooryard' must be a new england thing. He'd never heard it until he met my parents. He always says, 'What is the dooryard?' LOL!
