...to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free....

january thaw

The sun came out today.

It's been misty and grey and warm-ish for days.
A week or two early for traditional January thaw,
but nothing has been normal in the weather department lately.

Being colder than the air,
the ice-covered river set up a low, dreamy fog bank.

Only second stories were visible on the far shore.

The weather had already herded the ice fishing shanties
into a snug clump at the water's edge
...just in case a quick move was necessary.

The light was spectacular.

Thought you'd want to see.

  1. You were correct. Very happy to see what's going on in your part of the world. Beautiful.

  2. Mike, thanks for sharing! Great shots!

  3. Oh the light and the fog banks and those fishing shacks...you have captured it all so beautifully Mike!

  4. Beautiful shots, Mike. The first one is so ethereal. Happy New Year!
